SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - For the last 60 years, the Sioux Falls Downtown Lions Club has been serving pancakes as a fundraiser to help the vision and hearing impaired in our community.
Lion Sunshine Cady says during the 16 hour, two-day feed about 60,000 pancakes and 38,000 sausages are served.
Cady says the Lions have 11 grills staffed by volunteers flipping 10,560 pancakes an hour during the rush times, with the typical wait time during the peak hours of just 20 to 25 minutes.
Pancake feed is tomorrow afternoon from four to eight and all day Wednesday from six to eight at the Convention Center.
Tickets are available at Lewis Drug, HyVee, Ace Hardware and Gustaf's Greenery.
The public is also invited to bring their old eyeglasses to be recycled and used by the needy.
