SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - About 500 firefighters will descend on Sioux Falls later this week for the South Dakota State Fire School.
Minnehaha County Emergency Manager Lynn DeYoung says they'll take a variety of classes Friday and Saturday.
DeYoung says classes include pipeline safety, helicopter weather sites, weather spotting, forensic pathologies of burns and mass fatalities, traffic management and save yourself-active shooter.
Chad Greenway will be the keynote speaker at a Thursday dinner.
DeYoung says the firefighters are coming from across South Dakota, including forces from West River.
