SIOUX FALL, S.D. (KELO AM) - The National Weather Service calls the tornado near Pipestone, Minnesota, Tuesday as very weak with wind speeds peaking at 80 miles per hour.
Forecaster Todd Heitkamp says it was on the ground for ten minutes just west of Pipestone traveling to the north.
Heikamp says the Weather Service is rating the tornado as an EF-zero because the amount of damage that was done was very minimal. He adds that if there had to be a tornado, is happened in the right location.
Heitkamp says there was also minor damage in the Spirit Lake-Okoboji, Iowa, area caused by strong, straight line winds.
