SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Washington Pavilion is bringing the Tony Award winning musical "Matilda" to Sioux Falls next March.
Director of the Husby Performing Arts Center Regina Ruhberg says "Matilda" is the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life and dares to change her destiny.
Ruhberg says the fact that the Washington Pavilion is a stop for "Matilda The Musical"'s first national tour is a testament to the caliber of entertainment the Pavilion continues to bring for the ever growing performing arts community.
She say that parents who have ever wanted to introduce their family to musical theater, if you've ever wondered what Broadway was all about, this is the show for you, it's the show to see.
Matilda has won four Tony Awards and a record-breaking seven Olivier Awards. It's based on the novel by best-selling author Roald Dahl who also wrote "Charlie and the Choclate Factory" and "Fantastic Mr. Fox."
Tickets for the five day run in March are on sale now.
