SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Governor Daugaard encourages South Dakotans to recognize the treatment, symptoms and causes of post-traumatic stress injuries next Monday.

Secretary of Veterans Affairs Larry Zimmerman says its wounds are invisible.

Zimmerman says this particular war wound for people is unseen by others.  He says it's like the country's invisible veterans, you don't know a veteran unless they say they are.

He say it's important that veterans seek help for their invisible wounds and South Dakota has the resources available, both privately and publically, for the veteran to seek treatment.

Daugaard is proclaiming Monday as "Post-Traumatic Stress Injury Day."  Zimmerman says the effort is to raise awareness of PTSI and how it affects the men and women, and their families, who served to give us the freedom we enjoy today.
