Sioux Falls, SD (KELO AM) - Sioux Falls Fire Rescue and Firefighters Local 814 Union members are partnering again this holiday season in providing gifts for those children who unfortunately have to spend the holidays in the hospital.
Local 814 firefighters will be spending Monday, December 23, at 10 a.m. shopping at Lewis Drug on 41st Street and Minnesota Avenue to collect toys to add smiles to those spending Christmas in the hospital.
Then, on Tuesday, December 24 (Christmas Eve), Santa, Fire Engine No. 4, and firefighters will deliver toys to Avera, Sanford, and Children’s Care Hospital & School (CCHS). Santa and crew will start at Avera around 9 a.m., Sanford after, and then to CCHS to spread some holiday cheer and provide a gift to those children needing to spend time in the hospital this holiday season.
