SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Police are looking for a second suspect in last Friday’s stabbing at an apartment building on North Prairie Avenue.
Lieutenant Dave McIntire says the victim was attacked by two men armed with machetes.
McIntire says the victim was in the apartment building where his girlfriend lives when he was allegedly attacked by 24-year-old Derrick Arapahoe and another man. He says the suspects surprised the victim in the hallway of the apartments. He says there was a short conversation prior to the attack and the men then fled the building.
McIntire says the victim's wound is non-life threatening but he adds it could have been much worse.
McIntire says Arapahoe was arrested near the scene and charged with aggravated assault.
He says investigators have the name of the second suspect. The aren't releasing details on why the attack was made.
