Light to moderate snow is expected across the region today, gradually diminishing from north to south late this afternoon and tonight. Accumulations will range from less than an inch along the highway 14 corridor in southwest Minnesota...to 3 to 5 inches from south central South Dakota through the Missouri River valley and into northwest Iowa south of highway 18.
Wind chill readings will drop into the 20s below zero through the day today, then fall further tonight. By early Sunday morning, wind chill readings will range from 25 to 30 below through the Missouri River valley to 35 below zero or colder in parts of southwest Minnesota and the Iowa Great Lakes.
A wind chill advisory continues through 6 p.m. Sunday for the Sioux Falls area.
Temperatures will moderate in the week ahead, with high temperatures the 30’s later in the week, along with several chances for more snow.
